Why I Do This Work
My path into brain health
was never planned. It chose me.
As a child, I watched my grandfather disappear into Alzheimer's dementia. I was too young to understand the science, but old enough to feel the loss. Not just the loss of him, but the loss of hope in the people around him. Nobody had answers. Nobody knew what to do. That feeling stayed with me long after he was gone.
Years later, my father suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. Again, I watched someone I loved struggle, and again the conventional system offered limited options and limited hope. By then I was older, and I made a decision: I would not accept that there was nothing more to be done.
My own health challenges from a very young age had already sent me searching. I studied across multiple health fields and healing modalities, not out of idle curiosity, but out of necessity. I needed answers for myself first. What I learned gave me the clinical foundation I now use to help others.
These three experiences, my grandfather's Alzheimer's, my father's brain injury, and my own health journey, converged into a single purpose. They led me to Dr Dale Bredesen and the Buck Institute of Aging in California, where I trained in the Bredesen Protocol, the first published protocol to demonstrate reversal of cognitive decline. I retrained in 2023 to complete the updated ReCODE 2.0 Certification, because this work is too important to stand still.
Every person I work with today carries an echo of my grandfather, my father, or my younger self. That is why I do this work. That is why giving up is never an option.
– Jo Grabyn
I know firsthand how vital it is to hold onto hope, especially when other options offer limited outcomes. That lived experience is what drives my clinical practice every single day. It is the reason Bounce Matters exists.

Who I Work With
Facing some of the most frightening
health challenges of their lives.
I work with adults and families who are facing some of the most frightening health challenges of their lives. Unexplained cognitive decline. A loved one's dementia diagnosis. Recovery from a traumatic brain injury or concussion. The grinding exhaustion of complex chronic illness that nobody can explain.
Many of the people who find me have already been told there is nothing more that can be done. They have seen multiple practitioners, tried multiple approaches, and are running out of answers. They are looking for someone who will not accept that answer, who will investigate further, test deeper, and commit to finding a path forward.
If that sounds like you, or someone you love, you are in the right place.
How I Work
The WHOLE Health
Approach.
I believe that everything matters on your journey to health: brain, body, mind, spirit, environment, and life. I call this WHOLE Health, and it underpins every recommendation I make at Bounce Matters.
My clinical approach is built on functional and integrative medicine principles. Rather than managing symptoms, I investigate root causes through comprehensive functional pathology testing, then build a personalised protocol that may include nutritional medicine (including the KetoFLEX 12/3 framework), targeted supplementation, lifestyle interventions, and advanced therapies.
For clients navigating cognitive decline, I am certified to deliver the Bredesen Protocol, specifically the PreCODE and ReCODE programs. These are structured, evidence-informed programs that address the multiple contributing factors behind cognitive decline, guided by detailed testing and ongoing clinical monitoring. I use tools such as MoCA assessments and ProDrome scans to track progress and adjust the approach as we go.
My clinic also offers mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy, VieLight photobiomodulation, EWOT (exercise with oxygen therapy), infrared sauna therapy, and access to practitioner-only formulations. These therapies sit within your broader care plan, not as standalone treatments, but as components of a comprehensive, integrated approach.
I work in collaboration with your GP or specialist to ensure every aspect of your care is coordinated. Where appropriate, I partner with other healthcare professionals to bring the best possible resources into your recovery.
The Values That Drive My Work
Not corporate values written in a boardroom.
They grew out of lived experience.
Hope
Giving up is not an option. I have seen what happens when people lose hope, and I have seen what happens when they find it again. We trade in hope at Bounce Matters, and I will never stop looking for a way forward.
Tenacity
If I cannot help you, I will do everything I can to find someone who can. Your health challenge is not a dead end. It is a puzzle, and I will not stop until we find the right pieces.
No BS
I will be straight with you about what you need to do, even if you do not love me for it. Your health is too important for me to tell you what you want to hear instead of what you need to hear.
WHOLE Health
Everything matters: brain, body, mind, spirit, environment, and life. I do not compartmentalise your health. If it affects you, it is relevant to your care.
Personalisation
You are an individual. You arrived at this point via your own journey, and you will heal on a unique path. Cookie-cutter protocols do not work, and I do not use them.
Expertise Backed by Science
Every recommendation I make is grounded in published research and clinical evidence. I continue to train in functional, integrative, and hyperbaric medicine because the science never stops evolving, and neither should I.
Qualifications and Professional Memberships
